PDCM Welcomes Amela Murtic

PDCM is thrilled to welcome Amela Murtic to our team! Amela joins PDCM as an Account Manager in Employee Benefits.

Prior to PDCM, Amela worked for Tyson Fresh Meats for 18 years total, with 15 years spent in an HR administrative role. Her experiences thus far have prepared her well for her new responsibilities, which will include interacting with clients, answering benefits questions, and more.

Outside of work, Amela is a full time student at Upper Iowa University, where she is studying to obtain her BA in Business Administration. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, shopping and watching movies.

Get to know some fun facts about Amela:

Nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?  The nerdiest things that I do in my spare time are read self help and leadership books as well as listen TED talks on different subjects.

What is a fun fact about you? I speak two languages English and Bosnian aka Serbo-Croatian. When I came to US, I only knew two words of English, however few years later, I became fluent in English and worked as interpreter. I can think in one language while speaking the other at the same time.

What food can't you live without? Pasta!

What do you like to do on weekends? On the weekends, I love spending time with friends and family. My significant other and I have a 10 year-old son who loves to watch movies and play outside, so we usually do one of those things. I also have a 23  year-old step-son who is in a Navy training in Florida and we like to visit him when we can. Recently we have adopted a kitten who keeps all of us busy as well.

Best book you've recently read or favorite show you've recently watched? One of the books that I really enjoyed reading is 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. My favorite lesson from Covey  is “Seek first to understand, then to be understood."
