It is with both sadness and warm wishes that PDCM announces the retirement of Janet Dufel as Commercial Lines Account Manager, effective February 1. Throughout her 30-year career with PDCM, Janet serviced several large accounts alongside a number of producers – including current CEO and President Chris Fereday and former owners Steve Clabby and Frank Dowie.

“I appreciated working with Janet,” said Dowie. “She was truly a professional and leader for the commercial lines team, as well as a great advocate of mine. I wish Janet the best in retirement. She has been a tremendous commercial lines insurance agent, and she provided the leadership I needed to service large accounts at PDCM.”

“Janet has been a rock-solid member of the PDCM team for the last 30 years, and she will be greatly missed by her customers and colleagues alike,” said Fereday. “We have all benefited from her commitment to our core values each and every day, especially ‘do what’s right.’ She will be incredibly missed, but we wish her well as she focuses on more time with her family.”

Some of Janet’s fondest memories of her time at PDCM include getting to know the various producers, account managers, and clients that she worked alongside. Providing a high-level of service to clients has always been a top priority of PDCM’s, and Janet has continually shown this same level of commitment. In fact, it’s one of the reasons she spent the majority of her professional career with PDCM.

“It’s a great work environment, and [PDCM] has always treated me well,” Dufel said. “I’ve had the opportunity to grow and learn within my role – both personally and professionally.”

While she has more than 3 decades of experience working in the insurance industry, not all of them have been spent on the commercial lines team. When she first joined the organization, Janet worked as a Personal Lines Account Manager. As she learned more and grew in her position, Janet made the jump to the commercial lines team where she was responsible for handling larger, more complex accounts.

“Learn as much as you can, be open to new experiences, and put your best foot forward,” Janet said of her advice to those just beginning their careers.

Following her retirement in February, Janet plans to catch up on projects around the house, and spend more time with her friends and family – especially her 4 children and 9 grandchildren that she and her husband, Craig, share.
